This is the third generation Mindstorms-robot. The EV stands for evolution and is the successor of the NXT-set. Dozens of schools across the globe have contributed to the development of a comprehensive  educational concept in robotics.  The new set is completely compatible with the existing NXT-verion. All existing compartments like sensors and motors can thus still be used. The control system does not significantly differ from the NXT-robot. EV3 uses the exact same cables as the NXT. The EV3 can program the NXT, too, so that both systems can be used simultaneously. Furthermore, no investments will be lost and the transition from one system to the other will go smoothly.   An extension of this set is the possibility to make use of data-logging. The instructions to the students will be given by the robot itself. However, the biggest improvement in this generation of Minstorms is the enhanced capacity of the Intelligent Stone. This set includes the Educational software (Free download) in Dutch, amongst other languages.  The set consists of: - A firm storage box - Construction instructions - Rechargeable battery - 'Bal Wheel' - Connection cables - USB-cable - LEGO Technic parts (541 pieces) - 1 Programmable Intellent Stone (P-Brick) - 3 motors and 5 sensors - 2 large motors - 1 medium motor - 2 touch sensors - 1 colorsensor - 1 ultrasonesensor - 1 gyrosensor MIND! Lego is normaliter altijd goed. Zeer jammer dat er geen adapter wordt meegeleverd voor de accu. Als het om een standaard adapter zou gaan zou ik niet klagen.
